Miles Phillips: when art illuminates and amazes

Miles Phillips is a Canadian painter born in 1972. His inclination to painting began in the rooms dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, in the Uffizi Galleries in Florence, and from there he made this art form his strength.

The artist graduated with honors from the University of Victoria. His resume is diverse and brilliant: he graduated in the Advanced Web & Design course in 2000 at Bodwell High School in Vancouver; thanks to his talent he managed to exhibit his works in various solo shows between Vancouver and Amsterdam (where he still lives), and he exhibited in group exhibitions in New York, Vancouver, Amsterdam and South Korea. He donated funds to both AIDS benefit Chicago in 2020 and humanitarian aid organizations in Ukraine in 2022.
After his graduation he traveled for a few years living in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and London and then settled in Amsterdam from 2001.

His stylistic register is close to Street Art and partly following its canons, Phillips has composed numerous works alternating between canvases and graffiti, starting from portraits with warm and bright colors and then in recent years concentrating on more abstract subjects that best knew how to accompany and grasp his continuous artistic evolution.
With his works, Miles says he wants to catapult his viewers into another world. And this intention is poured into the simplicity of his canvases which represent an alternative space where the viewer can let himself go in a total flow of thoughts and emotions. This is also conveyed by bright and vibrant shades that create a soft transcendental glow in which brushstrokes of various colors blend harmoniously and sublimely.
