My interest in mountains dates back to my childhood, when my brother and I would scramble around the coastal mountains of Vancouver’s North Shore. Many of my recent ski mountaineering trips in BC for example give an intimate sense of the mountain, its temperament, and its characteristics. The paintings forge my relationship between the images I create in the studio and my personal experience of being in the mountains.
