Allegro maestoso - Op. 5 n. 11

Sylvia Catasta / Allegro maestoso - Op. 5 n. 11

The clouds’ cycle comes from the need to stop a light, a color, that moment of wonder that leads us to ignore time and bring us back to feelings, memories and sounds.

In a synesthetic parallel where the form is melody, the clouds of Sylvia are a celebration of the sound mixture, of color as light that creates images and emotions always subjective and individual.

Size: 30 cm X 40 cm
Period: 2020

Bio

Sylvia Catasta was born in Fermo (Marche region), graduated in Restoration at the Isdaf "U. Preziotti" and at the same time studied Flute at the Conservatory "G. B. Pergolesi".

She was invited to participate in group shows in the Marche region, receiving good reviews and commissions for portraits, until the music took her elsewhere.

After moving to Milan tin order to study music, she began a career as a flutist and “ottavinista” in the most prestigious classical orchestras, such as La Verdi in Milan, the Teatro alla Scala, the Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia, whilst still collaborating with the most famous pop/rock artists as an arranger and conductor (at the Festival di Sanremo 2020).

Until 2017, she continued to portray but then painting returned forcefully in her life.

In December 2018, several of her works were exhibited at the Galleria Mario Giusti HQ in Milan and in May 2019 her work was sold by Sotheby’s.
