Edgaras Vegys - artist, member of the Lithuanian Folk Artists' Union.
Painting style - expressive. A wide range of colors reveals subtle experienced states,
inner dialogue, and sometimes unexpected emotional breakthroughs of the artist.
I was born on November 3, 1985 in a small town in southeastern Lithuania. In 2004 I
graduated from high school with an enhanced art class.
In the autumn of 2004 I started my studies at the Vilnius St Joseph Seminary for Priests.
During this period of study, painting became only a hobby.
After graduation I was employed in various church and state institutions. During these
years, my artistic activity became secondary. However, during my academic period, the
instilled desire to create never disappeared.
Leaving all previous obligations and that way of life, in 2018 I was accepted to the
Klaipeda International School of Floral Designs, in which I discovered a distinctive art
form. In that same year, I returned to painting.
In 2020, I had the unique opportunity to experience dance as yet another way of artistic
expression. Together, with a professional ballroom dancer, I participated in a BBC
televised project in Lithuania “Dance with a Star”
In 2020, I became a member of the Lithuanian Folk Artists Union.
