The screenprint "Paloma Picasso" was published in the 6th volume of the portfolio titled "America’s Hommage to Picasso" containing 68 works by American artists, issued to celebrate the great Pablo Picasso.
Warhol's personal way to celebrate the Spanish painter was to make a portrait of Picasso's daughter, Paloma.
Paloma Picasso, a well known fashion designer, was very close to Warhol.
Together they used to attend parties and clubs, often talking about Paloma's job in the Fashion Industry, one of the great passions and interests of Warhol.
